Editorial standards.
How we work.
1. Independence
oráit is published by Just Gold.
2. Verification
Nothing is published on one account. The reporter talks to whoever sent the story and to at least one independent source. Where public records exist, we check them.
3. Consent
Anyone named in a story about a real person signs a simple consent form that says where the story will run and that they can withdraw before publication. For minors a parent signs, and children are never named in full.
4. Dignity
A story is about what someone did, not what was done to them. Pain is context, never the subject. If the person would not tell their story that way, we don't tell it that way.
5. Satire
Satire punches up: at power, at institutions, at the habits we share. Never at a person for who they are, where they come from, how they speak or what they have.
6. Photography
We photograph people and places as they are. No stock, no staged portraits, no images made by artificial intelligence.
7. Sponsored stories
Every sponsored piece is clearly labelled. The partner does not change the colour, the logo or the voice.
8. Corrections
We correct in public and thank whoever corrects us. Every correction goes into the story and into the corrections log.
9. Artificial intelligence
During the beta, the short news items in the feed are written automatically, with AI, and say so above the headline. Each one names its sources. No image on oráit is made by a machine. How it works
